Hotel Distil is for those who thirst for new experiences. It’s an authentic hotel in a historic building on Louisville’s Whiskey Row. It’s a home for connoisseurs of the finest comforts and gracious service. It’s a space with intriguing juxtapositions where you’ll pass through a historic facade to enjoy modern amenities.
For the health and safety of our guests, some hotel facilities or services may not be available to guests for a period of time.
We are making reservations via a rooming list again for the Fall 2022 meeting. Single Kings and Double Queen rooms are available for a nightly rate of $229 plus tax. To make your reservation, please include your arrival and departure dates and your desired room type when completing your meeting registration. That’s all you need to do! You will receive your confirmation number by 1 October. You will need to present your credit card at registration at the hotel.
Registrations received after 21 September cannot be guaranteed the AHIA room rate.

Optional Wednesday Whiskey Row Walking Tour
Immerse yourself in Louisville’s special bourbon whiskey history by joining us for a free “Whiskey Walking Tour”. A “Looking at Louisville” walking tour guide will take you on a ten-block journey through downtown Louisville, sharing their knowledge of pre-Prohibition Louisville and the boom of bourbon on Whiskey Row that is still taking place to this day.

Covid-19 Information
CDC Recommendations for Domestic Travel:
- Make sure you are up to date with your COVID-19 vaccines before travel.
- Check your destination’s COVID-19 situation before traveling. State, tribal, local, and territorial governments may have travel restrictions in place.
- Wearing a mask over your nose and mouth is recommended in indoor areas of public transportation (including airplanes) and indoors in U.S. transportation hubs (including airports).
- Do not travel if you have COVID-19 symptoms, tested positive for COVID-19, are waiting for results of a COVID-19 test, or had close contact with a person with COVID-19 and are recommended to quarantine.
Kentucky Public Health Department:
As CDC transitions to the new “COVID-19 Community Level” model that uses the number of new COVID-19 cases in each county, percent of hospital capacity devoted to COVID-19 patients and the number of new patients with COVID-19 admitted to the hospital in the past week, KDPH will be using this tool to help Kentuckians be informed of the COVID-19 impact in their communities. KDPH created the Community Level COVID-19 Guidance to align with the new community level model.
As of October 1, 2022, Louisville, KY resides within a county where the Community Level is listed as LOW.
Recommendations for COVID-19 prevention measures in LOW Level Communities:

Mask based on individual preference, informed by individual risk. Targeted mask use in schools and other indoor settings following exposures.

If you are immunocompromised or at high risk for severe disease, wear a mask or respirator that provides you with greater protection

Stay up to date with COVID-19 vaccines and boosters

Follow CDC recommendations for isolation and quarantine, including getting tested if you are exposed to COVID-19 or have symptoms of COVID-19
With these recommendations in mind, all AHIA attendees, as well as any visitors to meeting rooms and social events, are required to provide proof of vaccination to enter the AHIA venues. Well-fitting masks are encouraged for all indoor activities. Additionally, restaurants, attractions, and other tourism-related businesses may have implemented additional safety guidelines for guests, including requiring proof of vaccination.
Reasonable Accommodations: In the event that vaccination is not possible for an individual, they may still register for the AHIA meeting as a Virtual Attendee. Virtual attendees will have access to Educational Sessions on-demand for a period of 7 days after the close of the meeting. Unvaccinated individuals will not be permitted to attend in-person events.

Nelson Migdal and Christopher Naughten will dive deeper into hotel transactions and contracts, moving from a 10,000-foot view of the hospitality industry down into the micro-world of transactional law. The pace of mergers and acquisitions has continued and consolidation in the world of branded hotel operating companies and even third-party management companies will present both challenges and opportunities. Nelson and Chris will work together to merge these two views, micro and macro, to provide a clear and relatable picture of the future for hospitality law.
At Greenberg Traurig, Migdal focuses his practice on hotel acquisitions, operations, development and finance, large mixed-use projects, hotel management agreements, licensing agreements and commercial real estate acquisition and sale.
Christopher Naughten is a veteran title insurance industry executive with 38 years of experience with commercial and residential title. He has served in multiple capacities over the years holding the positions of agency counsel, commercial counsel, underwriter, business development and sales, and direct operations manager.

"A contractual provision that gives one contracting party (usually a company) the unilateral right to terminate the agreement, or take punitive action against the other party (usually an individual whose endorsement or image is sought) in the event that such other party engages in reprehensible behavior or conduct that may negatively impact his or her public image and, by association, the public image of the contracting company."
Despite the increasing prevalence of cases involving morals clauses in the public consciousness, the clauses themselves are not new and history provides important context in understanding them. Morals clauses were successful and unabashed contract mechanisms used not only to sever contracts due to moral misconduct, but also to censor political activity.
