AHIA Spring Meeting 2018

Drury Plaza Hotel Cleveland Downtown

WELCOME TO CLEVELAND!

Are you ready to rock and roll with AHIA?  Join us 18-20 April at the Drury Plaza Hotel Cleveland Downtown, a guitar pic's throw away from the one and only Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.  Grit meets sophistication in a town where you can browse modern art inside a turn-of-the-century transformer station, hear the orchestra perform live inside the local hot dog joint and chow down on pierogi stuffed with beef cheek.

We’ve got world-class experiences without the world-class ego. And for that, you’re welcome.

Our very full schedule helps you meet your ethical continuing legal education credits and will help you keep abreast of emerging trends for 2018 in Hotel Security, EU Global Data Privacy, ASCAP issues, and more.

Evening Events

Wednesday Dine Around

With over 200 restaurants downtown, your diet is in serious danger!   AHIA has made reservations at three great restaurants for dinner after the Wednesday opening reception. You have your choice of one of three restaurants to enjoy with your AHIA colleagues:  Marble Room Steaks and Raw Bar, Lola Bistro, or The Greenhouse Tavern.   Please review the restaurants and choose your restaurant when you register for the meeting.  Note: you are responsible for paying for your dinner at the restaurant at the end of the evening.

Marble Room Steaks and Raw Bar

The first thing you notice when you stroll into the Marble Room's lobby is the spaciousness, the opulence of the long dining hall. The columns alone are breathtaking, the details astounding.  The interior decorating here is important to note - it's equally a renovation and restoration of an old bank building. The Millennia Hospitality Group clearly had a vision, and part of that vision is to have a downtown restaurant where people will want to take out-of-town guests.  The menu's focus remains squarely on its truth-in-advertising name: Marble Room Steaks and Raw Bar.

Lola Bistro

Lola is the crown jewel of Cleveland's vibrant culinary scene. Chef Michael Symon's inventive and creative menu offers diners the opportunity to experience a modern spin on their favorite dishes, while always showcasing the best of what local purveyors are producing just miles away. The sleek and elegant space is the perfect backdrop to your culinary adventure of award-winning cuisine.

The Greenhouse Tavern

Chef Jonathon Sawyer brings love and happiness to each plate that is put out of The Greenhouse Tavern's kitchen. Using local produce, protein, and grain Chef Sawyer supports our revitalizing economy in Cleveland, Ohio.

Always working hard to be at the forefront of the rustbelt revolution the team at The Greenhouse Tavern is constantly looking for ways to innovate in the city, the kitchen, and on the menu.

On Thursday, we bowl!

Included in your registration is admission and dinner at Punch Bowl Social, a place for people to come and be themselves.

And they’ve stocked their place with a delectable collection of unequaled music, food, games, and beverages for you to enjoy as you’re being yourself.

You see, they don’t believe in uncomfortable chairs, bland walls, and fluorescent lights. Those things belong in the 9 to 5 world. They DO believe in a ‘dirty modern’ mash-up of chandeliers, food for foodies, PBR tallboys, and craft beverages. They believe in brunch turning into a bowling party and bowling parties turning into all-you-can-sing karaoke. They believe in exploring evenings filled with shuffleboard and made-from-scratch chicken and waffles.

You put your responsible, ironed, adult pants on every day of the week and you deserve a place where ties and khakis are a choice, not a requirement. Punch Bowl Social is that place—and there are untold possibilities waiting for you here. Come and discover for yourself.
